wes8398
We have an '11 Edge Sport that we bought used a few months ago. We LOVE the car, but MAN is this SYNC system full of annoyances and bugs and weird things! I don't know if it's related to SYNC or not but our hazard button doesn't respond to anything. I'm assuming it's a touch button rather than a push button, but either way I cannot get it to respond to me pressing it, holding it, tapping it, or lightly banging on it. What gives? Anyone have any suggestions?
akirby
Not related to MFT or Sync. It's a regular button that has a triangle on it. Edited October 7, 2014 by akirby
wes8398
So it should push in and out? Mine doesn't. I had read somewhere that it was a touch button... Does it make a difference that this is a Canadian Edge?
akirby
Does it make a difference that this is a Canadian Edge? I wouldn't think so. Have you tried pressing on the triangle itself and around it? Do you have MFT with the button on the bottom of the display or is it a small button at the top of the non-MFT radio? wes8398
I have MFT, so its a small button under the screen. My understanding is that some years have a physical push button and other years have a touch button that doesn't physically move. That's how mine feels, but touching it doesn't do anything. Linkman
Our 2011 SEL with MFT has the small hazard button beneath the display, it's not a physical push button, but what you're calling a touch button.

In that case it must not be working. Check the fuses.
cv27
On our 2011 Ltd with MFT, I found the sensitivity of the hazard touch button to be all over the place. It will activate while playing with the touch screen just above, probably because my palm touches the button. But when I urgently need to get the hazard on, just using my finger directly on the button, I'm stressed because it's a toss of the coin whether it will turn on. Maybe I just need to "play with the touch screen" when I want to turn hazards on?
omar302
2011-2012 MFT & MLT have a capacitive button for the hazard lights, just like the other capacitive buttons for the HVAC & media controls. In 2013 they changed to a physical button.
wes8398
I've tried every which way and I cannot get the hazards to turn on. I haven't checked any fuses yet, so I'll do that. Would the signals still be working fine even with a blown fuse?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Fuses 13 & 14 in the passenger compartment panel are for the right/left stop lamps & turn signals. Might work with 1 blown fuse, but not if both are blown.
