Shadrack
Okay, I was getting some freezing, maint. screens along with some errors with MFT/Sync screen with navigation. Took it to dealer, they updated with the latest software and sent me on my way. Now, I'm having an odd issue. Before the update I could enter in an address quickly and never had a minutes trouble. Now, honestly I sat beside the road for 15 minutes to be able to correctly type in the address. Specifically, it's the upper right hand of the screen being worse than any other part of the screen. When I touch "Navigation" to get to the screen to enter the address, etc. it things that I'm touching the map and places crosshairs on the map and wants me to set as waypoint/destination/etc. I'll hit the home button, and try again. And finally if I take a small object (like a stylus pen) I can get it to go to the address screen where I can type if I touch the very very top of the screen in the right corner. It's very aggravating. It acts like it is way out of calibration or something. Is there any way I can calibrate the screen myself, or do I need to take it back to another dealer and have them look at the screen?
omar302
You should not need to calibrate the screen. I suggest taking it back to the dealer. But, since this is a forum with DIY advise, try the calibration menu in the diagnostic mode. To enter MyFord Touch into diagnostics mode: - Make sure there is no CD in the system - Set MFT to AM/FM - Press and hold the eject button and... - Immediately after press and hold the right arrow on the center wheel while still holding the eject button - Hold both buttons pressed for about 12 seconds - Screen goes black and MFT enters diagnostics mode The system defaults to a speaker tone test which starts immediately. You can cancel it on the screen. You should find a screen calibration entry (don't remember it exactly), after finishing, tap anywhere on the screen to exit. Edit: Found the below screenshot, don't remember were I got it from! Edited September 30, 2014 by omar302
FordIVTteam
Hi Shadrack,Please contact your dealer for this. They'll need to diagnose and correct this concern. I don't recommend recalibrating the screen yourself. Rebecca
Shadrack
Update: Instead of going through the hassle of setting up a dealership visit for something simple as this, I decided to give the calibration a try myself. No offense to dealerships, but honestly, I trust myself over most of my local dealerships. Anyways, I went though the on screen instructions, straightforward as you could get. Recalibrated my touchscreen, and it works perfectly now! Thanks for the information omar302!
