macbwt
My Ford edge with 252,000 miles is starting to show some rear seal leakage. I ran regular oil in it for most of the miles. I just changed to High mileage and will wait and see if the additives can swell the seals to slow or stop the leak. Anyone else with a rear seal leak? WWWPerfA_ZN0W
A course of Auto-Rx might help, tho a bit expensive. I guess you pay for the higher concentrations of seal conditioners in that product vs what you typically find in HM oil. Haven't tried it myself, but at least some people on other forums say it works. Cleans up the varnish quite well also. EDIT: I have seen mention of PCV systems contributing to oil/seal leaks. Have you replaced the PCV valve ever on your Edge? http://www.agcoauto.com/content/news/p2_articleid/197 Edited September 24, 2014 by WWWPerfA_ZN0W
macbwt
I will check on the other additives you mentioned. As far as the PCV valve I have never replaced it. It is the original PCV valve among other parts that are original.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Easy and cheap enough to be a worthwhile replacement, i think.
