bapierce Posted September 21, 2014 Report Share Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) Hi my CEL came one a week ago and pulled the code p2272 which is o2 sensor bank 2 sensor 2 running lean. So I replaced the sensor with a o2 that was for the upstream that I had. The CEL came back on after replacing it. My question is are both the upstream and downstream o2 sensors the same sensor or are they not interchangeable? If they are I'll probably be replacing my catalytic converter next sence I can't find anything else wrong. MOTORCRAFT Part # DY1056 Downstream MOTORCRAFT Part # DY1064 Upstream NTK Part # 22046 Upstream (OEM) NTK Part # 22500 Downstream (OEM) There is a possibility that the sensors are identical but used in different ways by the ECU, or that wiring length is the only difference (clearance), but I wouldn't take that chance.
