Dbl A
I just towed my Edge for 4 hours and the battery went dead. The issue is I have to push the start button once to allow me to shift into neutral, but then the dash lights stay lit the entire time, drawing power.Anyone know how to put it into neutral without touching the ignition? I'm assuming there has to be a way, just as if I had a dead battery and needed a tow. Help! Dbl A
omar302
It is written in pages 258 & 259 of the owner's manual. You can download a pdf copy from here: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner%2FPage%2FOwnerGuidePage
akirby
You're supposed to tow it in accessory mode and you have to run the vehicle periodically to keep the battery charged. It's explained in the owner's manual. The procedure to manually shift into neutral is also explained under Driving/Brake shift interlock. But towing without accessory power is not recommended according to the manual.
