MoogLe
Hey guys I was swapping out my interior bulbs with some LEDs today and when I got to the trunk light somehow I managed to get a small spark when reinstalling the halogen bulb and then I could no longer get the trunk light or rear center dome light to work. For some reason all the other lights still work, it seems to be just the ones controlled by the little switch next to the headlight switch. I checked my fuses but could not figure out which one seems to be for these two specific bulbs. I used a test light on all my fuses which seemed to show that they were all fine. I pulled the "interior light" and "demand light fuses" and replaced them with a spare which also did not give me any results. I don't know if maybe this switch connects to a relay which may have it's own separate fuse or what. Sooo yea, I'm kind of out of ideas. I really hope somebody can pitch in Edited August 1, 2014 by MoogLe
kc300c
Hi Moogle, Definitely sounds like a blown fuse. I have attached a copy of the fuse box layout for your Edge. Try checking fuse number 12. It protects the interior lighting circuit which should include the cargo and dome lamps. Feel free to send me an email at info@DAYTIMEBrightLites.com if you have any questions. I don't get on the forum very often, but do check my email regularly.
MoogLe
Well for some odd reason, this morning the lights worked just fine. I don't know if it's some kind of battery saving feature that they turned off due to the doors being open for too long eventhough I closed and reopened them. I also remember swapping out specifically fuse #12 and #4 as well as a few others to be sure they weren't blown. Wierd thing is that when I pulled fuse #12, the other interior lights still worked. I'm stumped.... But thankfully it's working
chipworkz
I know this thread is a little older but in case someone is looking for the information, here is the difference between Fuse #4 and Fuse #12. #12 is for the courtesy dome lights were as #4 is for the On Demand (Switched) dome lights. If you pull #12 only, the dome lights won't come on when you press the switch on the dash or open your door. You will still be able to hit the switches on the dome lights and turn on the on demand circuit since #4 is still in. See the attached diagrams for the circuit layout. Notice #12 is for more than just the dome lights. It is also for other back lighting like the steering wheel switches and media hub lighting for example. See the diagrams F12 and 13-37 for the complete circuit. Edited October 19, 2014 by chipworkz
