olredhead
2007 Edge e-brake shoes are dragging. Have adjusted all the way in on the brake itself. Web tells me I need to adjust brake cable equalizer but cannot find the location. Anyone help me out with this?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Here's what the manual says about the procedure, hope someone with actual experience will chime in: Parking Brake Cable Adjustment NOTE: Cable tension is adjusted in 2 locations, the first location is at the parking brake control, the second location is at the parking brake cable equalizer. The tension must be adjusted equally at both locations. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section 100-02 . NOTE: The dimension will vary depending on the amount of cable stretch. New cables require cycling the parking brake control 5-10 times to remove the cable slack. Adjust the parking brake control adjustment nut as shown. Adjust the parking brake cable equalizer adjustment nut as shown. Fully apply the parking brake pedal 3 times to verify correct operation of the parking brake system. With the parking brake cable in the fully released position, brake drag should not be present. olredhead
Thank you so much WWW, I think the second illustration puts me on the right track. Will just have to get under the vechicle and trace the cable back to the equalizer.Brakes may not be dragging enough to affect anything but I don't like the sound of anything dragging. Thanks again.
