CastorTroy45
Hey everyone Last night after I installed a HID kit in my 2011 ford edge SE the AC no longer blows cold air. When I hooked the HID relay to the battery there were some sparks but I don't understand how a HID kit could affect the ac system. I checked all the fuses/relays and still nothing. Any ideas? Hollywood1
There are three fuses on the top of the battery terminal. Did you check those?
akirby
Probably a fuse. Recheck all of them including the power distribution box under the hood.
CastorTroy45
just checked them and they look fine. Another thing I noticed is the fan by the radiator is running at full blast all the time and is very loud. I'm about to check all the fuses in the power distribution box to see if I can find anything.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
According to the manual, you should run the PCM self-test, pull codes if any. A/C pressure switch (ACPSW) or ACP transducer sensor circuits may be involved. EDIT: Found this thread that I think will help - http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12731-radiator-fan-assembly-replacement-procedure/ Edited July 20, 2014 by WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Demonface
fuse might have been blown.

CastorTroy45
fuse might have been blown. I checked all the fuses with a voltmeter and they're all good.
CastorTroy45
I plugged in my obd2 bluetooth adapter and no fault codes were found. I also noticed the compressor is not coming on as well.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Not sure on the self test, I think a service shop/dealer has to run that. Did you pull codes while the engine was running/while you were driving? Sometimes they don't get set in permanent memory.
Waldo
I once installed a DRL kit in my Focus and after that the car wouldn't start. Eventually turned out one of the wires I ran got caught in the clutch position switch so that switch wouldn't close when I pushed in the clucth and thus the car wouldn't start. Point is, it may have nothing to do with the HID kit itself, it could just be that you bumped something out of place while doing the work. Go back over everything remotely close to where you were working and see if something is out of place.
CastorTroy45
Figured out the problem. I put a voltmeter on the ac high pressure sensor/ switch and sure enough it was sending the wrong pressure signal so I put in a new switch and everything is working now. Kinda weird that it happened while I was installing my hid kit.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Awesome! Could have been a momentary surge in the electrical system that blew the switch, IDK.
