Drivers armrest with controls keeps sliding/loos

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I just purchased a used 2007 Ford Edge and just in the past week the driver's side armrest with the window controls and mirrors controls has come loose - whenever I go to roll the windows up or down it slides forward and I am concered about damaging the electrical wiring underneath. I have looked and felt all around the door panel but cannot find a place where I may have lost a screw or where it could of come loose? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

This may help:

Even the 2007 manual says it's pretty straightforward:

2007 Edge Front Door Panel

Removal and Installation

All vehicles

  1. Remove the front door handle bezel.
    • Remove the screw cover.
    • Remove the screw.
    • Remove the front door handle bezel.
      • Disconnect the electrical connectors, if equipped.

Yes I found that screw cover in the door handle however it is tight and that does not seem to be my issue - its the section of the armrest on the drivers door right in front of the that little pocket area, where the screw it, that keeps sliding forward - this small section has the window buttons and side-view mirror controls. I will try and get a photo tonight to post of the issue - thanks!

If it's just the piece with the controls then it just clips in so it's either become unclipped or the clips broke.
