JLBlazin00
Ok so I wanna put a set of Mach M7s on my lady's 2013 Limited any help with offset and overall wheel width 20x8.5 or 20x9.5 and expecially the offset any advise?
A.N.
With 8.5s I wouldn't go with any offset higher than 45 and with 9.5, 35mm would be the highest. I would go with a 8.5 and 35mm offset, it will only be 2.3mm closer to the brakes/suspension and give a nice poke of 10.4mm . Maliken
Has anyone here thinks about the fuel consumption of the vehicle once the wheel was change?? coz im planning to buy a new set of wheels.. but im concern with the fuel economy of it coz i bought the Ecoboost.. Anyone here has an idea or experience on it???
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
I still have the "stock" setup, so I don't know directly about the Edge. But the basics remain the same. Keep the wheel/tire combo height the same to retain speedometer/odometer accuracy (and OEM navigation, if you have it). Lighter wheels will mean less rolling resistance, and better mileage/acceleration, but also possibly less "shock" absorption, unless the wheel is smaller and you put on a tire with more sidewall. Don't go smaller than the smallest OEM wheel size, so you retain brake clearance. Ā Have you narrowed down your choices for new wheels? Are these going to be full-time, year round, or are you considering a winter set/non-winter set?
akirby
Yes, tires can affect mpg. On my old Fusion I lost 1-2 mpg at least going to cheaper softer tires with more rolling resistance compared to the stock michelins.
Maliken
Sorry for the late reply. Is it a good idea to have a new set of wheels for all season? I might gonna use all season tires for winter here.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
If weather gets bad, and you can afford the $ and space for a separate winter setup, by all means do so! Tire diameter may be limited though, at least on TireRack I have not seen > 19" (?) offered. And you may save on a wheel/tire package as well. Overall tire/wheel height should be the same as your non-winter setup or your speedometer/odometer will be off.
