therock17016
I bought the Spec-D Tuning headlights for my 2010 Ford Edge with the chrome background. It worked fine for the first week. After the first week the LED strip on the driver side headlight would not turn on when I pressed the "unlock" button on the car key to open it up, the LED Bulbs in the middle of the headlight would still work fine. After I would drive around a bit I noticed the LED strip would finally turn on, but sometimes they wouldnt. I took it back to the person who installed the headlights, who messed with the wires a bit, and it fixed for about a week, then the same problem continued. After a few weeks the person decided it was a wiring issue, and bought new wires and re-wired BOTH headlights completely. The re-wiring worked, and the LED's on the headlights even looked brighter afterwards .... for about a week, when the same thing began to happen to now the PASSENGER side headlight. Yes ... the driver side no longer had the problem, it went over to the passenger side. I am really dissapointed and we can't seem to find the problem. For the past week now, I've noticed that the LED strip on the passenger side actually turns on but the light is REALLY REALLY dim ... I stood in front of my car tonight looking at it for about 5 minutes, just standing there and noticed every minute or so the LED strip would get a little brighter, then it would flicker ON completely every now and then, and then dim back up. Here is a photo of the headlight so you guys know exactly what I mean. Sorry for makijng this so long but I wanted to be as detailed as possible. The LED strip on left of the photo is the one giving me the problems. In this photo, the strip is actually turned on, but its dimmed. Every now and then, the strip just turns off and won't turn on unless I drive the car around for a while. The foglight is also out, which also happened to the driver side when it had the problem. Hopefully someone can help me find a solution for this ... Thanks in advance.
RustyEdge
Maybe it could be water damage? I had one of the sets of DTBL DRL's that had the water seepage issue and this is exactly how the lights would be have in wet or humid weather. They would be dim, then flicker between full brightness and dim, then drop back to dim or randomly full brightless for a minute or so and then flicker all over again. I think water got into the controller and was messing with the connections, confusing the unit. Might not be but it might be worth a check on the seals to make sure they are water tight. When it was dry out for a few days in a row the lights would function perfectly.
