Filtercharged07
Hey guys, I'm just wondering what the best way is to clean the entire engine bay without damaging any electrical components. The valve covers have a coating of salt/corrosion(??) that I would like to remove, too. Any tips?
fishx65
Not sure if it's smart but I just lightly spray everything with a mild cleaner, scrub everything, lightly rinse, towel dry and take her for a drive to dry. I don't cover anything like I did in the old days.

autom8r
I take mine to a DIY car wash. I'm careful not to blast the PCM and I limit the water blast on the rest of the connectors. I'm surprised that Ford does not jacket their connections like other manufacturers. I would do a little at a time if this is the first time. Clean it partially once, let dry completely, clean partially again, let dry completely, cleaning a little more each time. The transmission has a significant wire loom and connector as well, look out for this one too. Done it a half a dozen times without issue. But there may come a time.....
