briandye
Got my kit from DDM today, installed it, kept blowing fuses as soon as I woukd turn the headlights on, so I finally disected the harness and they had everything connected ass backwards, so I rewired it all, and they work now, but I noticed after being in the driveway with them on, drivers side bulb shut off. Turned the switch off and back on and it was going again, however theres a nasty buzzing coming from the relay. This was when the car was running also. Did not hear this buzzing when the car was shut off. (And no, this isn't the ballasts humming, this is the relay) Kind of nervous now, I have a 35 mile trip home from work at night and I already have to get ready to go in. briandye
Well, so far so good. I found an old Morrimoto Harness from a retrofit that I started years ago and never finished, used the (Might I say very good looking!) relay from that harness, and have absolutely no noise, and left them on for roughly 10 minutes with no problems. (They were only on for a couple minutes at the most when I noticed the drivers side went out and relay started buzzing) The relay even feels super cheap and about half the weight of the Morrimoto one. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Put the OEMs back in if you can to buy time to diagnose the problem. EDIT: Hope the Morimotos solved the issue! Edited March 18, 2014 by WWWPerfA_ZN0W
12Edge
Yeah, keep the OEM bulbs on hand and that relay. Assuming the relay is accessible. That way if you have any issues you can just pull over and revert the bulbs or try the other relay
tfmex
IF the relay is buzzing really loud it is most likely turning on and of VERY fast. There is a bulb out feature that causes the low beam signal to pulse. you need a resistor to fix your issue. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/components/harnesses/morimoto-standalone-canbus-wire-harness-48642.html
briandye
Thanks for the reply, but it was just a bad/cheap relay. Used my (new) old Morrimoto relays from an old TRS wire harness I had laying around and havent had a problem since! No noise either.
lamlamz
Hi guys, do you mind showing me where I can find and connect Edge output to the input of the harness? I have Morimoto 9006 Relay Harness.... Thanks.
