FrankJ.Reda
Over the winter, I noticed that the blue logo was missing from the front grill badge on my 2012 Edge SEL. I now just have a chrome logo and badge left behind. So I ordered a replacement blue badge, but I can't figure out how to replace it. There are no screws or bolts holding the badge in place, and because of the chrome surround, I can't get behind it to wiggle it out (the way some people say to do it). Can anyone point me to instructions on how to replace the front grill badge?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Can you post a picture of the problem area, and what you have purchased? I thought the emblems were retained by 2 long screws/bolts.
FrankJ.Reda
Here are some pics. The chrome badge is still on the Edge. The blue one is the one I bought. If you look at the close up of the post on the one I bought it is not threaded. I triple checked the part number and the holes match up, so I think it's the right part. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Hmmm. From this video, looks like you have to pull off the old emblem, push in the new:
FrankJ.Reda
Thanks WWWPerfA_ZNow. I saw that video too. The problem is that the Edge has a chrome surround around the badge that makes it impossible to grab the badge. I could try and get a screwdriver behind the badge and wedge it out, but I will end up damaging the chrome surround. I guess I'm going to have to drop the whole grille and bumper to get at it, but I was hoping there was an easier way. Anyone know any tricks? WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Maybe get a strong suction cup on it?
candurin
Just a heads up. My badge was actually secured from behind with a "bolt" of sorts. It was not threaded, but it did require me to use pliers to pry it off those little clip/bolts. It was hard to describe. There was no way I could just pull it off from the front. FrankJ.Reda
Thanks candurin. I Think I'll need to drop the grille and bumper to take a closer look. I was trying to avoid that, but I don't want to do more damage by forcing it off. Thanks for the heads up.
HRinkel
I ran into the same problem but discovered that it is actually quite simple to remove the emblem and bezel together. The bezel is held to the front grill by three flat plastic tabs. After loosening the top grill shroud so I could get my arm down behind the emblem, I was able to slightly press down with my fingers on the two lower tabs enough to release them from the grill. Once they released the bottom of the bezel, I could then press up on the third tab near the top of the oval, and the bezel assembly came off. The emblem is fastened to the bezel with two tinnerman nuts that screw down on the two large plastic posts on the back of the emblem. I unscrewed the nuts (I think 10mm socket) from the old emblem and used them to fasten the new emblem to the bezel. After replacing the emblem, I merely snapped the bezel back in place. It all took about 15 minutes - most of that to figure out how it was held in place. I'm sorry for the wordiness, but I could not figure out how to post my photo of the bezel backside showing the tabs.
callatis
same thing happened to my 2013 Edge. I don't know if someone swapped his old emblem with mine or it just fell off at the car wash... Dealer price is $CAD168. I saw decals for $19.
fishx65
Just got around to installing the front emblem my dealer gave me under warranty about two years ago. Took me about 15 minutes thanks to HRinkels short write-up. Pretty sad that Ford's "advertising" emblem was peeling after only two years.

walsh_dw
Here is the link to what I purchased... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0716RJDBY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I removed the (2) bolts and (4) screws/clips just above the grill which gave me enough room to pull back and access the clips holding the entire emblem assembly together.
IWRBB
I put a vinyl overlay on our 2010. It's not as shiny, but I was able to get a black background instead of blue to match the blacked out grille.
