macbwt
Funny thing I told the body shop estimater that when the deer hit the passenger side it peeled off most of the chrome on the passenger side mirror. He informed me that he did not think the insurance company would buy off on that explaination. LOL
macbwt
The 2008 Ford Edge is currently being or is disassembled and parts were ordered today. Estimate of pick up is this coming thursday. Might be Friday as I will be out of town until Friday. One note on the 2015 Chevy Suburban. Who would order a 2 wheel drive and then use it in Iowa? This truck sucks in the snow. I want my edge back.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Yeah, I was probably better off in my Hyundai Accent rental LOL. Just don't try wheelies ...
macbwt
Not to mention the cylinder deactivation kept hunting for a good place, but never found it except when going down hill. Apparently 75mph is too fast for the v8 to change to a v4

macbwt
It's sort of like a race horse. Not being out on the road I am afraid it will have issues getting up and running again after sitting around for 10 days.
macbwt
I did look at the Blizzaks on my edge after the deer incident and the front tires are done after this season. The rears will be used one more season on the front with the new blizzaks being put on the rear wheels. Time to get ready for the tire change to the summer tires. Tomorrow I have to drive the same route at the same time as when I hit the deer. This time with the rental. Do not want to hit another deer as the 500 deductable adds up after awhile. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Looks like the door is being repaired?
macbwt
Yep door was damaged also. When I hit the deer it spun and slammed into the lower part of the passenger side door. The photo also make me wonder if they are repairing the old side swipe dent near the door handle. Time will tell.
macbwt
Upon closer view of the photo Yes they are repairing the old side swipe dent. Hope the insurance company don't get all bent over this.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Might as well get it all taken care of in 1 go!
macbwt
Door off and getting painted plus not entirely sure why they are painting the rear door now? Makes ya wonder what is doing on as they keep painting more and more of the car. Maybe they will just give up and paint the whole thing!!!

macbwt
The Edge is now most likely painted. Photo of it in the paint booth.
macbwt
Painted, doors finished. Waiting for the bumper cover to be installed. Was called and informed late afternoon tomorrow. Taking the goofy acting 2011 in for reviews. Listening to my wife it sound like the 2011 is ready to explode. I guess I will drive it in the morning and see what all the huffing and puffing is about. I can only laugh at this point.

macbwt
The 2008 Ford Edge is back from a 10 day spa treatment and looking pretty shinny. See the photos.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Looks great! Did they replace the right headlight? Too bad they didn't do the left one too, nothing a little polishing/sealing wouldn't take care of though.
macbwt
The passenger side headlight was destroyed. Yes now it looks like it is winking at you with the old dull drivers side all abused from the miles of use and exposure. A good headlight polish kit when it warms up should do the trick. macbwt
Drove the 2008 around for errands today and filled it up with gas for the drive Monday morning. Felt like an old pair of comfortable shoes. Nice to be back on the road with it.
