omar302
You need to drive for a while before it goes.a few miles. From the owners manual of a 2011: After inflating your tires to the manufacturers recommended inflation pressure as shown on the Tire Label (located on the edge of drivers door or the B-Pillar), the vehicle must be driven for at least two minutes over 20mph (32km/h) before the light will turn off. I did that, I drove about 10km since the light suddenly turned ON. and another 10km in the afternoon, while going on lunch, then again 10km going back office. but nothing happened.... I was wondering if one of the tire has small leakage and that could be the reason ?????
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
I was wondering if one of the tire has small leakage and that could be the reason ????? Entirely possible. I assume you filled the "low" tire up to 35 psi? If there is any rust on the wheel rims, that can compromise the tire bonding and needs to be sanded off. wlepse
Does the spare have a sensor? Just wondering because I switched to another set of wheels without TPMS and I could swear the warning on the dash said TPMS failure, but lately it is saying low pressure. Guess I should pop the deck and double check.
omar302
The spare does not have a sensor.
wlepse
Wonder why mine is saying low pressure then when there are no sensors to tell the computer it is low. Maybe after X TPMS failure msgs it defaults to low pressure???
full_jingbang
Well, I guess one of the sensor (TPMS) has gone bad. does anyone knows how to check "WHICH ONE" ? and what is the Part Number and its cost ????
ls973800
First time I had installed some new wheels with the old sensors put in, the TPMS light on the dash came on. I drove about 10 miles but the light never went out. This was all city driving, with no speeds over about 30-40 MPH or so. I got onto a freeway and hit 60 MPH. Within 1 minute the light went out. Perhaps you need to make sure you have gone over 60 MPH?
EdgeGermany
Hello, I had the same issue. After replacing my front brake discs and pads the warning disappeared. I recommend to check your brakes and replace parts if needed. Best regards, Rene
full_jingbang
Just for the info. Yesterday I went to carwash, when the car got cleaned, I parked in office. When I started again to go home, the light was gone. TPMS seems to be OK .....
engops
2011 Edge for me. Wouldn't it be great if it stated which tire was low?
akirby
2011 Edge for me. Wouldn't it be great if it stated which tire was low? Yep. Still not sure why they don't do that since they have the info.
nickf1011
Yep. Still not sure why they don't do that since they have the info. Does the system have that info though? I know some systems can determine it, while others are "dumb" and just get a blanket reading from all the sensors without distinguishing between which is which. At the very least, it would be a nice added feature to put on the MKX.
