CinnamonEdge
I just noticed that my 2012 Edge only has two heated seat settings while Ive noticed others with three! I would love to have a middle setting. Anyone know why that is?
ls973800
My 2013 only has the two setting for the seat. I don't recall seeing any other settings in any other Edges I looked at. Perhaps the MKX has more?
Haz
My 2012 MKX has three levels of front seat heating (and cooling). Good luck!
akirby
I think it is the MKX that has 3, not the Edge. My Fusion has 3.
omar302
The MKX front seats have Cooled/Heated seats, its a different type all together with 3 settings for cooling & 3 for heating. Uses a fan with a thermoelectric plate (Peltier effect). The Edge has electric heating elements in the seats.
CinnamonEdge
i also saw two videos on youtube showing the three settings on two different Edges. Isnt that weird?
akirby
My Fusion only has heated seats (no cooling) and it still has 3 heat settings.
Rick89114
My 2013 SEL Edge has 3 settings for the heated seats, My seats are leather.
akirby
It's probably a 2013 change for all Fords.
normcloutier
My 13 SEL with cloth only has 2 settings. The settings are can't feel it and too hot. Wish there were 3.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
With our luck, the 3 settings would be: Can't feel it, too hot, and cremate! Seriously though, seems the 3 setting option is for those who get the leather package with their Edge.

akirby
Cloth with heated seats?? That is a first, for me anyway. Was it a factory option or aftermarket? Cloth heated seats have been an option on Ford Canadian vehicles for over a decade - maybe longer. We just never got that option in the U.S.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Maybe this polar vortex will be the tipping point.
normcloutier
That's why I didn't go for leather. Even with heated leather seats, -40 is still -40 when you get in.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Actually, unless the seats are heated BEFORE you get in, -40 is like -100 on leather

CinnamonEdge
well I have a 2012 Limited with leather seats and only have two settings. I saw a youtube video from a dealer in a 2011 and 2012 and they both had three settings. But another had only two. Wierdness... CinnamonEdge
I just wish there was a medium temp because like everyone else said it is either nothing or sterilize.
lowesdell
2011 SEL with leather seats and only 2 settings: can't feel and HOT
Tacyon
2011 limited with Leather .. 2 levels. What I've often fancied was retro-fitting cooling in the seats. Like the MKX seats in my Edge .... then, how to get the controls in the Edge center control screen. I'd use the cooling function FAR more often than the heat ! Limited59
I'd use the cooling function FAR more often than the heat !I have found this with my MKX. The only disappointment for me, relative to my old Edge, is that the heated seats in the MKX don't reach the same temps. At least on mine, even the hottest of three settings isn't even half as intense as the Edge was. Cooling function works great. Over both seat functions, the heated steering wheel is the best cold weather feature IMHO. Truly a treat.
bce
Over both seat functions, the heated steering wheel is the best cold weather feature IMHO. Truly a treat. That is the only reason I regret not getting the MKX. I HATE holding onto cold steering wheels.
Uncoiler
Great information that I did not know when I was considering cloth vs. leather. At that time I preferred cloth, but wanted the Limited model which only comes with leather. And yes it has 3 temperature settings. After only owning my Edge for 2 weeks we have used all 3 settings several times. #3 is great for when you first get in and need it hot real quick, but then you soon turn it down to #2 or #1 where it is just noticeable.
