Jose Chavez
i have a friend from the gym who doesn't really know much about cars and always comes to me when it comes to window tinting, hids, and car audio. he recently purchased and 2012 ford edge sport with halogen bulbs and asked me to order and install an hid kit for him. now i know the basics on installation but im a bit confused on what kit to order. i looked on the sylvania replacement guide and its says this vehicle takes a 9012 bulb for hi and low beam. my issue is i cant find the hid kit for hi and low beam with bulbs 9012. i already read on hear that a 9006 bulb works on it correct me if im wrong. my question is if i need a bulb with the hi and low option or is the car already equipped with the mechanism that reflects the light to a elevated position? i figured id come here for help since for my 07 acura TL i always get my information from acurazine and find it very helpful. so can someone help me help my friend please? any information would be appreciated. candurin
You don't need separate hi/lows. The edge has a mechanical shutter to change the light position. 9006 bulb kits will fit, but some members have also used 9005. Some bulbs (depending on manufacturer) may need to have the tabs trimmed a bit with a Dremel or razor.
