8T9BlackLX
Had a strange issue lately, I have been getting random "Door Ajar" messages on the Info Center (SEL w/o MFT), you can drive the vehicle somewhere and park, go in to the store or anywhere for that matter and come back out and get in and get a Door Ajar message on any other door that you have not opened. You get out and open/close said door and all is OK until you park and it will do the same thing, but this time it will be a different door. Now last night I noticed that the Info Center between the Speedo & Tach was lit, I go around and check all doors, get in and start with all doors closed and there are no messages telling me a door is ajar, so I shut it down and locked with the key fob and only one beep. Now we didn't go anywhere today (and who would want to with all of the after Christmas traffic) and I go out to it this evening and it is dead. I'm wondering if having a battery that is going bad will cause these false indicators?
akirby
It's the door sensor inside the latch. Spray inside the latch with WD40.
8T9BlackLX
Thanks akirby, I'll give this a try. While telling the wife about this, she mentions that the last time she had it in at the dealership for an oil change they said that she will need the battery replaced soon, this is why I thought it may have something to do with the battery. This is also the reason for my other POST about the Gr59 vs Gr65 battery. Greg
akirby
I missed the battery being dead - that could be it. I'd replace it just to be safe then if you still get the door ajar warning try the wd-40 inside the latch on the door.
Stephanie Dries Russell
I am having the same door ajar issue and it is draining my battery I think, which has been replaced once already per the sealer ships recommendation
