shadybiz11
Hey all, I have a 2009 edge limited that has 91,000 miles on it. about two weeks ago, the transmission started chugging, like it was having a hard time engaging. It happens when your coasting around 40-45 MPH, when you press on the gas to accelerate, it ca-thumps, ca-thumps then accelerates. Anyone know what might be going on with the transmission? Terry Loewenberg
I had a similar issue with a 2008. Turned out to be an individual cylinder coil. It took almost two months to catch it on the dealer diagnostic computer.
thirdgenlxi
Very well may be low on fluid too and neutralizing under lower RPM. You see any leaks anywhere?? I'd check the level just to be sure anyways.... vehicle level, hot, engine idling
shadybiz11
I checked the fluid level. It is either full or not showing up on the dipstick. the little crosschecks are so small it's hard to tell. but I believe it to be full
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
The color of the fluid is lighter than for years past for sure. Use a strong light, and look for the fluid "blob" as viewed at an angle.
Larry
My thought is the tranny is low on fluid. I have a 2013 low mileage Edge so the fluid should be a lighter color than your 09 with 90,000 miles. I can see my fluid level very easily. Just my 2 cents. Larry Northern,In.
