arabski
Hi there, maybe a silly question, but is there a law forcing US manufacturers to put flat driver side mirrors? I was surprised how little you can see in the driver side mirror... I thought one might get used to it, but the blind spot is just ridiculously large... Does ford offer a replacement convex glass for Edge?
wannabang
I hardly ever use my mirrors when changing lanes... I constantly check them when driving in the same lane that I have a pretty good idea of where the cars are around me, and for entering/exiting the freeway, I just look over my shoulder. Just a little change in driving habits can fix your problem pretty cheaply. I'm not aware of any law, but USDOT has so many regulations.. lol They have little attachable mirrors to cover your blindspot, or replacement mirrors with an angled mirror built in to cover it. omar302
arabsky, Your car's year, model & trim are not shown, I believe since 2010 all Edges (except those equipped with BLIS) have a built-in blind spot mirrors in driver's side mirror. arabski
...I dunno why it does not show - 2013 sport has blis, but I need "normal" mirrors - Im from Europe - we don't have "flat" mirrors for safety reasons... and since I got my Edge, I understand it more than ever... omar302
You can swap the mirror glass from a non BLIS equipped edge, but you will loose the indicator light for BLIS. Unless you find a way to attach the light to it.

Idahoser
Its mainly regular glass but with a convex piece in the top left corner. I have a '08 Edge SEL. What do I order to make my mirror like that?
omar302
@Idahoser, If you have heated mirrors, I believe this should fit: http://m.ebay.com/itm/230890215739?nav=SEARCH&sbk=
Cruiser64
I have a 2013 SE and I hate the blind spot mirrors, they are so small they don't do any good. My daughter has a 2013 Escape and her blind spot mirrors seem almost twice the size of mine and have been wondering if I could swap the mirrors off a Escape. Does anybody know if that is possible. omar302
I don't think the Escape's mirrors would fit. Completely different base & mirror shape. But, in 2012, Ford changed the side mirrors to a smaller design, so you probably could swap in 2009-2011 mirrors (complete with the base). 2007-2008 did not have the blind spot mirrors. arabski
Do you know if Edge is offered somewhere in the world in left-hand traffic version? That one will definitely have the passenger side convex mirror with a specific part number that can be ordered from any Ford catalog... But where from? India? Australia? South Africa?
omar302
I don't know if the Edge was or is offered in right hand drive.
