Aftermarket radio to replace 6 disc sync w/ sub?

Bought a limited 2009 Edge today, has the 6 disc headunit with sync and the sub. Was browsing Crutchfield and they said there are no harnesses for an aftermarket headunit.

 

Looked on Sonix and found them at upwards of $200 with a box that had what looked to be a screen, what the hell is the deal?

 

I want to throw in an AppRadio 3, but I am not paying $200 for a wire harness, ill make my own! Lol I am guessing it has something todo with retaining Sync which is garbage I dont need.

 

The AR3 does bluetooth audio which is all I need. (So does sync, I know, but I want rear view cam, video abilities etc)
