unxpctd
Hi all! I purchased my 2013 Mineral Gray Limited Ecoboost Edge on 09-23-2013. Its been busy at work but I finally got around to adding a few things before I take my first extended trip in a couple weeks. Valentine One (accept no substitutes... ) 400 watt Power Inverter. I got it for $45 off Amazon. I had them both hard wired directly to the battery on a 20 amp fuse. I don't do electronic work like this myself so I had a local shop do it. They do great work. Cost me a bit but then I know it won't start the vehicle on fire... :happy feet: The Valentine One is a bit lower than I wanted so I'm going to do a little surgery on the bracket later this winter and raise it a bit. The power inverter should charge my laptop and anything else I throw at it. It has 2 regular and 2 USB ports for charging. With an upcoming 2800 mile round trip and several 5,000 mile round trips scheduled for the next few years (National Park tours out west next few summers) I figured this was the way to go.... 17" laptop with 2 hard drives in it...takes a bit of power iPad iPod Cell Phone 4g Verizon HotSpot On the Valentine One....I usually set my speed at 3-5 over on the highways so I'm not usually too worried about interstates..its regular roads, 2 lane highways and speed transition zones that always get me. I don't have a lead foot for the most part and I look at the Val One as just another "just in case" type of thing for very long trips. I have one hard wired into my 500+ horsepower Marauder and didn't want to be without one in my new Edge. Nice thing is if I fold down the visor....its invisible...well almost Few pictures...not the best but it'll give you an idea. The power inverter does block the "ambient lighting" from under the space in the dash but that doesn't worry me. Overall...I'm very happy...just have to do a bit of surgery on the Val One mount and I'll be set. I've added a few other things so far... K&N Filter Window Visors 50% tint on front windows
