thirdgenlxi
Put in a new battery today (Autocraft Silver 36R, same as old one). Had some trouble with the terminals, didn't want to come loose at first. Put on some felt washers and anti-corrosion protection. Nice to hear it crank over fast Had terrible cranking times in near- to sub-freezing weather before. Definitely good to have a fresh battery in these colder temps! I had mine detailed today..... I was lazy though and didn't do it myself lol. I paid our detail guy at work, as he's kinda hurting for $$ and he's trying to get his own little side biz going (and he does good work) so I figured I'd give him a little business. He's doing the inside too but we ran out of time today so he's gonna do the inside next week and finish up a few things on the outside (trim and whatnot). But he got the wash/polish/sealer done today 2007 with 137k miles..... still cleans up pretty good I think Pics aren't the greatest cuz it was getting dark... and it's a phone camera, lol. I'll try and get some better daytime pics once it's all done and we have a nice day Edited January 23, 2015 by thirdgenlxi

WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Started a trial run of Lubegard Fuel Booster today. Been noticing some hesitation to shift after engine/trans thoroughly warmed up (30 min or more). 104+ several tanks ago had a very positive effect on that issue. BTW, since I changed the vehicle battery, I no longer get the annoying ding for key in ignition when key is NOT in ignition & engine is off. thirdgenlxi
I changed out my TSS and OSS sensors today..... I wasn't having any problems but being that it is fairly common on the earlier trans (which mine does fall into the dates listed in the TSB), and with my new job I will likely lose lift access here in the near future, so I decided to just go ahead and do them now while I have a lift (and a parts discount) which makes the job a whoooolle lot easier.... and not have to worry about having any problems with it in the future Wasn't too bad.... Everything was still nice and clean inside..... that's always a good sign. Going on 138k miles I took the valve body apart too and cleaned everything out..... took all the valve out of the valve body too (one by one) and cleaned everything out. Never saw anything that actually looked dirty, but just wanted to make sure there wasn't any junk trapped in there anywhere. Fun fun fun..... lol

thirdgenlxi
Clean looking parts! Good preventive maintenance ... how long did it take to do all this? It was a good part of a work day.... but I did do a few other things in between there too so I wasn't quite working on it the entire time... plus lunch break and everything. I could have done it a lot faster if I was doing just this, but I wasn't in any big hurry.... just had to have it done before I went home. Plus I'd never done these before so I had to kinda figure it out too.... first time is always a little slower. Really though it wasn't bad.... taking the valve bodies all apart probably took the most time of anything, haha. But I figured while I was in there I might as well. I guess I got everything back together right.... she shifts beautifully, lol Edited February 5, 2015 by thirdgenlxi

Something way out of my league lol Today I finally got the time to change my oil. Admittedly, something that has been neglected since we started the move to Korea. Got a lift and was a clean/quick finish. Feels good not to worry about it anymore. Additionally, a few weeks ago I bought and installed a usb hub and ran a cable up to the cluster. I run navigation from my cellphone here in Korea and the stock usb ports do not actually power/charge my phone. So the hub I bought plugs into the cigarette lighter and provides enough power to charge my devices. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L34ARD2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I just popped the trim and ran the cable through, behind, and up the center console. Be gentle about the cleanliness of my Edge. We have been rushing back and forth to the hospital. My wife is pregnant and was her due date was a few days ago. So we haven't been focused on cleaning the car.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Hope the due date actually arrives soon, and we all get to see the new addition to the family! How are the wife and son are holding up in the meantime? The Edge has GOT to be happy with the new RP running through its' veins. I should try it too, for now sticking with MC stock. Great idea putting in a USB hub too Edited February 5, 2015 by WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Cellbine
Thanks. We are anxiously waiting. We value our alone time together, but we are very excited for the new addition. Wife is in a lot of pain though. Docs already tried to induce her last week, twice. But no baby yet. She is having strong contractions again right now. We are waiting to see where it goes. The antici...... ....pation is killing us. First time using RP. Pretty much the only thing on base I could by. Someone told me it was a good choice. I didn't have time to do proper research on it though.

thirdgenlxi
I put some new belts on tonight.... they were starting to make a little bit of a scratching noise on a cold start... would go away after a few mins running though Seems nobody sells the Gatorbacks anymore (maybe they're not making them anymore?). Had to get these off of Amazon. Nice and quiet now though Those dang stretchy belts are a bit of a pain in the ass I'm not sure if the old belts were original from '07 or not.... they didn't look terribly bad but did have a few little cracks here and there.... figured with 138k on the car I'd rather just replace them and be on the safe side. They both did say Motorcraft, so who knows.....
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Was the sound anything like cards in a bicycle spoke? I get that sometimes, but only on cold starts/cold days.
thirdgenlxi
Was the sound anything like cards in a bicycle spoke? I get that sometimes, but only on cold starts/cold days. I dunno if I would say it sounds like cards in bicycle spokes..... it wasn't like a distinct clicking or anything like that. I don't know how to really describe it, other than maybe like a varying rubbing sound. At first I almost thought it was an exhaust leak, but those are usually a little more pronounced too, especially when cold. It was coming only from the right side though and down lower, so belt seemed like the most likely culprit EDIT: BTW what part of Maryland you live in?? I used to get up that way every so often for bike meets and whatnot, usually ending up at Skyline Drive. Haven't been up there in a few years though. But I do get out to Garysburg, NC quite a bit for trackdays at NC BIKE.... depending on where you're at, if you'd be down for a 'meet in the middle' somewhere in VA to meet up and grab some lunch or something, I'd be down. I always enjoy meeting up with forum peoples Edited February 7, 2015 by thirdgenlxi

Shotgun
All my WeatherTech stuff came in this week, F/R floor mats and the Cargo mat. Got that stuff laid in. I like it a lot.The rear cargo mat seemed to tone down the road noise as an added bonus. I installed the window visors some time ago. Also, after seeing it on the site I bought and installed the rear bumper cover off the Scion mod. Worked like a champ.Looks pretty slick and much needed protection too.Now for the LED mods, lol
