Daniel Pettway Posted October 25, 2013 Report Share Posted October 25, 2013 I'm having a problem installing my HIDs. I have a wiring harness with two ballasts and two bulbs. The ballasts are rated for 35W. The problem i'm having is that no matter how I configure the setup the bulbs do not turn on. I've tried two different sets of ballasts and 3 different sets of bulbs. Is there something I need to do besides plug and play. Is there a fuse that needs to be installed along with installation or something else along those lines. I'm at a complete lose right now. Daniel Pettway Posted October 26, 2013 Author Report Share Posted October 26, 2013 I have the custom headlights from whiteis33. They originally came with halogens. I found one of my old ballasts from my motorcycle that I plugged in that worked (sucks that I only have one of them). The difference between this ballasts and the ballasts I was using before is that my older ballasts has a little box( guessing it's some sort of fuse) that is in between the ballasts and the connectors for the light itself. WWWPerfA_ZN0W Posted October 26, 2013 Report Share Posted October 26, 2013 Probably a capacitor in the "black box" that helps with startup current draw. Are your bulbs 35W also, or just the ballasts? I would keep an eye on the wiring/bulbs still. Some of the "lesser" HID kits have literally gone up in smoke. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Msl558 Posted October 27, 2013 Report Share Posted October 27, 2013 you can also reverse the polarity on the hid... it happened to me a couple of times that even though its positive to positive sometimes for some reasons its backwards...
