Fifth_Ford
Does anybody know if there is a simple way to change the power state for the accessory plugs. I have a portable GPS permanently mounted but won't power down when the car turns off. This is because the accessory plugs remain on without the key. My father-in-law has a Ford 150 King Ranch and his plugs do power down when the ignition is turned off. Any ideas.....

There is probably a dedicated fuse position for the accessory receptacles and it would involve moving or jumpering the wiring to a fuse that is controlled by the ignition switch. Years ago I installed two-way radios in vehicles and the fuse blocks were divided up that way. With the level of sophistication found in modern rides, you might not want to make such a modification. Your dealership might take a dim view of that so I'd get their input. Be careful and good luck.
