melgriffith
Hello I haven't used the heater since March. I used the heater today, it was a bit nippy after work, and the heater didn't work. I checked the fuse, tested the AC, everything looks good. Anyone know why the heater isn't working? WWWPerfA_ZN0W
AC was blowing cold air? When on heater, is air coming out? Was the Edge already a bit warmed up before you used the heater? If the air is not coming out warm, could be a plugged heater core.
melgriffith
Hi Yes, AC does blow cold air. For the heater (turning temp control knob to full heat) air does come out. Ran the heater for 30 mins during the commute home, no heat. Thanks
Whitewater
Check your coolant level.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Per my 2007's shop manual, these are the diagnostic steps: Low engine coolant level Engine overheating Plugged or partially plugged heater core Temperature blend door is binding or stuck Temperature blend door actuator Heater hose is kinked or binding (check very carefully when engine is warmed up, may be hot enough to burn) The actual controls (mechanical/electronic) are not mentioned, but there could be a fault in there as well. redsvt2001
Check your engine temp. If it's running cold, the thermostat could be stuck open and only running cold antifreeze through the heater core. Also check the hoses under the hood at the firewall once the engine is worm. Both hoses should be hot.

macbwt
Most common failure is the climate control module. You would need to hook a scan tool to it and start a diagnostic or even try to reprogram it. If programing does not work then a replacement may be the solution.
enigma-2
Could try running a self test on the climate control module. Procedure was explained in the post: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15071-climate-control-problem/
