barrytravis13
My first post! I couldn't find anything in the search. 2011 SE AWD with base model stereo. I installed a new set of Pioneer 6x8's and a Polk 4ch amp and man does it sound awesome! My only issue is when I turn the key to "accessory mode" it says "low battery audio off" so the radio doesn't turn on until the engine starts and also turns off right once I take the key out of the ignition rather than staying on until I open the door. Just to proactively cover the typical audio questions -Car starts and drives just fine. -No issues while the engine is started. -It is grounded well, I have zero feedback in the audio and the amp stays cool. -I wired the ignition wire to the #35 fuse by the foot panel. -I ran two "4 gauge" (looked a little small for 4 gauge so I ran another) power cables and have two grounds at separate locations . -The power cables are bolted to the battery terminal connector. I made sure not to connect them after any factory fuses, each power cable has its own fuse. -Amp is mounted under the drivers seat (no power seats) so the cables are fairly short. Its not the worst problem in the world but if I can fix it I would like to. Thanks in advance! Travis
shoulinpanther
Did you remove any of the factory working that goes to the stock amp? The stock amps in out vehicles are very interesting in they way they are designed.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
How much power is your amp drawing? The electrical system might be sensing too much draw?
barrytravis13
I am have not measured how much power it's drawing. I will check this weekend. Where is the factor amp? I cut the speaker wires behind the radio and ran the radio side of the cut to the amp for inputs and outs from the amp back to the speaker side of the cut. Now that I have been driving it for a few days it's not giving me that error message, so the charging system might actually just have been low... I figured driving it for 30min would have fixed that. We will see.
