Edgieguy
I have a Yamaha AR190 which I plan to move soon (empty-No gas) which weighs 2728lbs on galvanized trailer. Wonder if anyone has thoughs or experience with slightly lighter or heavier tows.
windaddiction
I pull a 19 FOOT travel trailer, it is 2700 dry probably 3200 with gear. It tows fine I just take OD off, and stay in the slow lane. It eats the gas! I monitor my tranny temp with my OBD2 adapter and have never gone over 205F yet. Mind you I just replaced my PTU today.... I also use a weight distributing hitch and a really nice electric brake controller. The worst part of towing is the wind resistance not the weight so I imagine towing a boat the same weight as my trailer would be much easier! Also a little off topic, but trailer rated tire (ST = special towing) Are generally rated for 65 MPH max.
