wannabang
After my recent break in, I'm pondering the addition of the Viper Invisibeam proximity sensor. http://www.viper.com/P-508D/Invisibeam%C2%AE-Field-Disturbance-Sensor I want to know if this is an addition to my current Viper alarm system or an entirely separate alarm. I don't need two alarms on the car... Also, has anyone used it? I've seen reviews of people claiming hard rain and snow sets it off, and I do not want my alarm unlocked all winter to prevent it from going off. fledgex
Do you have the bamr? Love that moniker !!!
wannabang
Do you have the bamr? Yeah, why? Does it not work if they break in through that?... not that I expect them to, but I didn't expect a break in to begin with.
Dingo
The sensor is an add-on for existing alarms, and works great. Just make sure you have the bamr shade closed when you arm it.
wannabang
Awesome, thanks! Do you have it? What would happen if it's open?
Dingo
I have had it in other cars. Rain, birds, etc could set it off easier.
wannabang
Of course. I only open it during great weather, and usually close it when it's parked. I've always see IT as the most vulnerable point of the car. Thanks!
Dingo
Most vulnerable point in any car is the driver's side window.
wannabang
Why's that exactly?
Dingo
That's usually concealed, and provides easy access to the door locks and hood release.
