richy
After reading Joe's thread about the restricted air flow from the seats and seeing Akirby's response about the filter, I went looking online for an aftermarket option. According to the manual, it looks round. The only aftermarket one I could find was from JC Whitney, but it was square. Any leads on one? WWWPerfA_ZN0W
That was probably the cabin air filter in the glove compartment? This is what I found on Ford's website: http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/PartDetail.aspx?n=Eg6Bs7FNIa4eP%2f19hGULJQ%3d%3d&id=241911334&m=2&search=true&year=2011&make=Lincoln&model=MKX I am sure Benny at Levittown can order for you, but shipping would likely not be feasible. Local dealer?
richy
Thanks for the link, but, no it's not the air cabin filter. It's a round one under the seat for the climate controlled seats. The dealer has one, but it's $45. I was hoping to find one cheaper somewhere. I must be searching for it incorrectly.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Sorry, I should have been clearer. The link is to the seat filter http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/CatalogResults.aspx?y=2011&m=Lincoln&mo=MKX&initSearch=1&keyword=filter# 19E880 (FS-104) My local dealer stocks it for $33.00, don't know why it is higher in Canada. http://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-FS-104-Air-Filter/dp/B001CA9CN8/ Edited July 23, 2013 by WWWPerfA_ZN0W
richy
OK, I called my local (Canadian) dealer who wanted $45 (+13% tax!). I was only able to find one online source, however, it was 1/2 the cost of the dealer markup. I ordered 2. If anyone is interested, here's the link: http://www.autopartstomorrow.com/part_numbers/380550-climate-control-seat-filter
Lincwitsync
You might want to visually inspect your seat filter. After 70000 miles, I checked mine and it wasn't dirty at all. Just check before you spend your hard earned cash. I don't think they need to be changed very often.
richy
Mine was dirty and the air flow has improved.
Ozimandius
Bump! I have a 2009 MKX with 114,000 kms on the clock and my front seats don't cool or heat up adequately. The previous owner skipped the last seat air filter replacement so I'm assuming mine is dirty too?
richy
I would think it's long overdue.
