Nick Halstead
So we all know that car companies are cheap. Our EDGE comes from the factory with the bulbs both facing the passengers side. both LEDS are firing towards the passenger sideNow we want to fix this issue.Get a box cutter or exacto knife and we have to make a notch. (I did mine quick so the wife didn't see me with a knife near her EDGE)We are gonna cut a notch out like this on the left side of where the lense housing goeswhich allows us to turn the lens housing around like this That's all there is to it. The rest of the photos will just show the lighting difference. Factory Modded Factory Modded Factory Modded Factory Modded Modded These are the LEDS I had in the plates (sold them) and will be putting back inhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/221250512628?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 These are what are in it right nowhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-DESIGN-2X-OSRAM-CHIP-5W-WHITE-LED-SMD-T10-194-168-912-921-W5W-LIGHT-BULBS-/321162828784
FordMan1977
Nice DIY write up. Such a easy modification. And the before and after shows its worth it to have the bulbs facing eachother. Those particular leds have a spotlight effect, they do not cast even light as a incandescent bulb so they present some challenges in that respect. Nice work and thanks for sharing! Nick Halstead
That's one of the reasons I'm going back to my other LEDs. At least they have for LEDs to fire from on the sides also. Though for picture purposes I probably should have taken the license plate cover off

FordMan1977
Hey Nick after your write up on the plate led's I decided to do this mod too. I chose the canbus bulbs that you recommended from ebay. The ones that fire from the side and not just a spotlight. I removed the passenger side plate lamp housing and reversed it so they fire light at eachother as you did. Very pleased with these led's I even converted the maps, domes, and cargo.
