PrinzII
Sorry we were interrupted. We ran into some fire activity on Glendale. Our convo gave me some new information that I was not aware of. For instance, your Edge has the power liftgate where mine does not. I am thinking your idea of putting it in the area where the spare is would be best so you don't lose cargo room. BTW, did you get a chance to check out the 10TW3?

Yes, I saw the 10TW3 enclosure but I wasn't so sure about the fit.
az_edge
OK, the amp is all hooked up. I installed the amp in front of the spare tire on top of a foam square that I bought; worked like a charm. I'm not sure that I have everything adjusted properly. I've got the Input Sensitivity and Bass Boost turned all the way down for the break-in period. I switched my 4-Channel amp to High Pass and set both amp's crossover settings to 80. I'm not sure what to think so far..... I'm sure I need to get things broken in and adjusted properly before rendering a fair opinion.
wannabang
Your input sensitivity (or is there a "gain" knob?) is what you'll adjust to raise the "gain" and get it to slam as much as it can without clipping. Forget about "boost".
shoulinpanther
Gain and input sensitivity are relatively the same thing. Are you going to get your 3sixty.3 and a full active setup tuned like you talked about? I should have my speakers and sound deadening done next month. I am not going to do full amp set yet going to wait till after I move.
shoulinpanther
Also for relative break in turn your hertz frequency down more on your sub. The lower the frequency for breaking on the better. Also being that it is a 10 not to low day around 45-55hz but keep your gain or input sensitivity down for now. Just my opinion I'm not an expert
wannabang
I'd adjust your input sen. accordingly now and just keep your volume low, or vice versa. There's no quantitative break-in period, but if you don't push it some, how is it supposed to break into anything? lol

az_edge
Ok I tuned my sub amp with a multimeter. The book says 31.6v but the guy at jl audio said to use 29.0v to be safe. So I'm at 29.0v. I'm still playing with my lc7i accubass settings but so far so good. I also have the crossover on both amps set to 80. The stealthbox is pretty powerful. Yet it's not very noticeable outside the vehicle, perfect. I have no idea how you guys with multiple 12" subs do it. I must be getting old, ugh. The system sounds awesome. The stealthbox doesn't make a huge difference but it compliments the system quite nicely. The lows are great. I think I need to order the sub amp remote knob so I can adjust the volume of the sub when I want. I think I just need to adjust the sub volume level to match the 4 channel amp a little better as something seems a bit off with certain songs. az_edge
*Update* Ok, I was kinda happy with my stealthbox and jl amp. But I wasn't convinced it was all worth it. I changed my high-pass settings to about 90 and the low-pass settings to about 95. That's better. Then I remembered I hadn't setup my lc7i bass control and accubass settings. In fact, they were turned all the way down! So I setup the lc7i bass settings. I also added the remote control knob for the jl amp ( a must have IMHO ). Then I re-configured the output signal on the jl sub amp to 31.6 volts. Bingo! Bass is awesome! My system sounds gorgeous! I love the remote knob so I can adjust the sub output on the fly, it's great! The Stealthbox and jx500/1d rocks! despain85
That box is huge! Guess I wouldn't have thought there would be so much room behind those panels. I'm gonna have to look into a sub now. Looks great.
az_edge
Yeah, it's pretty amazing how large that area is behind the panel. The Stealthbox is a generous size for sure! I bet they could've made the sub 12" if they wanted.
Tribby2001
I have a 2010 Edge SEL Limited w/Sub (no NAV). If I were to replace the stock OEM sub with the JL Audio Stealthbox and JL Audio XD300/1 sub amp, is the stock OEM sub amp wiring harness sufficient to wire-up the new JL sub amp? Can the JL sub amp be mounted in the same area as the stock OEM sub box/Stealthbox or must it be mounted elsewhere? az_edge
First, I would get an amp with higher wattage. Second, I believe you could just use the existing wiring since that xd300/1 has speaker level inputs.
X2E
I'm placing 4 10" JL audio W3V3-2 woofers in place of my spare tire. (My back is weak, and I can't imagine doing a roadside tire-change anyhow... besides, I have roadside coverage). I've been living with a stealthbox for a few months now, and a single 10" isn't cutting it for me.
X2E
So the amp will not fit perfectly under the rear seat. When I fold down the seat it won't fold completely all the way with the amp under there, bummer. So I was thinking of installing it on the driver sidewall next to the lift gate motor. But, it looks like a real pain to take all that apart to get behind there and I wouldn't mind having access to the amp to make adjustments when needed. Now I'm thinking of setting it in front of the spare tire on top of that that metal brace thing. Maybe I could make a piece of foam to fit over that large metal thing and have the amp cradled on top of the foam. Thoughts? Actually, I had put a fairly large amp under the front passenger seat initially. It required removing some of the AC ducting for the back seat area, but it fit nicely.
