EDGE'08
Should both cooling fans on the radiator turn at the same time? Only my passenger side fan runs with the AC. Neither seemed to run with out the AC on and the engine overheats. What would cause the fans to not turn on?
thirdgenlxi
Yes, both should be running..... likely culprit is the fan control module, but you could have a bad motor as well. Unplug the A/C high pressure siwtch (in the A/C high pressure line near the airbox), start engine and wait a minute or so, both fans should default to the HI setting. If not or only one turns on, start checking voltage at the fan itself
PrinzII
I just went through this with my '08 and had to replace the fans because the motor had gone bad. Cost me $600+ to have it done.
EDGE'08
I tested and did find the one motor not working. I ordered a new cooling fan assy which will show up tomorrow and I will install it and find out if things are back to normal.
EDGE'08
I installed a new cooling fan assembly but the fans won't turn on. Checking the codes I get a P0480 which is a cooling fan circuit fault. Does anyone know what to do to resolve this now? Is the PCM bad?
