jsabia85
As of yesterday I noticed that the horn on my 2011 Ford Edge Limited sounds really weak. It used to be louder but now it sounds weak or like a little boy that hasn't hit puberty . Also, the horn sound is coming from the passenger side engine area. Is a horn also located on the driver side or is it just the passenger side?Any ideas? Has anyone experienced this problem? Dingo
There are two; a low tone one and a high tone one. They're both on the passenger's side behind the bumper cover. Sounds like the low one died.
jsabia85
In order to replace I guess I have to take the bumper off? Do you know if there are instructions on how to do this?
wannabang
Same thing happened to mine, but I don't honk a whole lot, so I haven't really cared to fix it.
lraia
On my 2011 Edge, one of the horns failed after about a year, I never repaired it, just turned it in at lease end. Edited July 8, 2013 by lraia
TheWizard
In order to replace I guess I have to take the bumper off? Do you know if there are instructions on how to do this? With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. (you can probably do this in your driveway without a hoist)Remove the 5 RH front fender splash shield screws. Pull the RH front fender splash shield downward to access the horn. Disconnect the electrical connector.Remove the bolt and the horn. To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). To install, reverse the removal procedure.
