gibbous
2011 Ford Edge Limited stalled twice while my wife was driving approximately 30 MPH. The car is just out of warranty so we took it to our mechanic. He said he thinks it's a dirty mass airflow sensor. We had him clean the sensor and will see. I have my doubts that that caused the car to stall twice within one week. It seems like this could be a deadly problem and I wish Ford would address with a TSB or recall. If it stalls again it will be sold.. I can't have my wife and kids risk their lives driving a car that will stall at any time in traffic. Is this a widespread systemic problem with the Edge? Something Ford should or has already addressed?

gibbous
Can the throttle body be repaired or does it need to be cleaned, replaced? thanks for responding.
Dingo
Try cleaning it first. Random oil and dirt can create a ledge on the inside edge that sticks to the butterfly plate.
syfy1415
Our 07 Ford Edge is my wife's daily driver. It has been stalling on her lately too. Last night, I took the throttle body off, cleaned it, and reinstalled it. It was pretty dirty. I also replaced her air filter which was NASTY!!! No problems with the car today and running fine - So I hope that was the problem and not something else. I wish I cleaned the MAF sensor too.. I'll have to do that tonight when I pick up some cleaner. Edited July 30, 2013 by syfy1415
gibbous
It was the throttle body. I don't have 5 posts so I'm going to post this a few times so I can let someone know in a private message.

skeeter60
Had same problem with my Edge, luckly I had a reader with me it pointed to Throttle body. Took it in to service told them of my readings, they said they had issues with this, fixed it right away. Crossing my fingers no problem since its been 9 months.

Elizabeth Johnson
My apologies, here is the whole post: 2013 Edge, same issue. Curious if anyone who had a dealer replace the throttle body was able to do so under warranty or recall. Thanks for any help you can give. akirby
No recall as far as I know, so the standard warranty coverage would apply. If it's not under warranty I think it's around $175 for the part and 10 minutes to install it.
