For those who have satellite radio...

...SiriusXM started a two week freeview today of 60 channels. Don't need to do anything except tune in.

 

Normally when this happens, I get traffic as well on the nav, but as of today, nothing.

 

After this freeview period, you can get six months for $25 total. I may do that.

$50 - $70 a year makes sense to me and is doable. But until they fix their compression issues and improve the sound quality, paying more than that doesn't make sense to me.

I just don't see the value of paying for radio...

I like Sirius for the following reasons. I mostly listen to Bluesville and RealJazz.

• The Bluesville channel exposed me to blues artists I never knew about.
• I've learned more about specific artists.
• The downside, I spent more money on my music collection.

 

I listen to RealJazz many mornings during the drive to work. The music helps keep me calm while dealing with the mental midgets who failed driver's education. Several mornings in a row I listened to a lot of Coltrane.

 

I can understand people's reluctance to pay for sat radio. I hear you, but in my case I do like sat radio.
