Adding stock sub to a SEL

Recommended Posts

I guess you technically don't need an amp, as the other speakers in the car are running off the pre-amp in your head unit. In order to get the cone moving, you will need an amp, and the wires to power the amp and connect it to the head unit. Don't think you need a processor. I've never used one in the sub systems I've put together.

Why do you need a grill on the sub? It's behind the plastic panel. I'm not sure that the "grill" in the trim does much. I'm pretty sure it'd sound similar with or without it, and unless you cut your own whole, I'm not sure you have any option but to buy the panel with the opening.
