ravishingrocket
I see pics of the factory setup showing lights in the door handles and the door storage area, but websites selling the OEM kit say nothing about either. Has anyone bought the OEM kit and can tell me if it has these lights? Also, where is the factory switch/button located that controls the ambient lighting? ravishingrocket
The ambient lighting installation instructions say to drill a 17.5mm hole behind the gear shift and 1 inch in front of the armrest for the switch. Anyone have a pic of this?
normcloutier
The after market Ford ambient light kit is only one cup holder led and two footwell led bars. The pics online are of the OEM ambient light kit built in at factory. I have an installation manual somewhere. If you need it, pm me. ravishingrocket
Any aftermarket solutions to the OEM kit? I would want to add the additional lighting to match all the factory locations, but also want the colors to match. Anything that will have the choice of colors to cycle thru? normcloutier
I finally found the site that had the installation instructions. My question is has anyone installed this kit? I really wanted this feature from factory but it wasn't available on the 13 SEL. 2013_Truck_Ambient_Lighting_9-25-2012.pdf
enigma-2
The ambient lighting installation instructions say to drill a 17.5mm hole behind the gear shift and 1 inch in front of the armrest for the switch. Anyone have a pic of this?A 17.5mm drill bit? Now there's a tool I've never seen.
normcloutier
I would use a step bit. I see these new instructions show light engines in the footwell instead of the tubes. Has anyone used this new kit?
brianshaeffer
17.5 mm converts to 11/16 inches. That might be easier to find in a drill bit.
