ls973800
Well, I guess I may have spoken too soon! I just tried the Pandora and Slacker radio stations from my S4 in the Edge using BT. Both are now showing artist and song title on the screen! Both on the full screen when I have the entertainment quad selected, and also when I am using the home screen. No cover art on the screen, but I'm happy (for now) with the artist and song info. Phone connected with no trouble. Tomorrow I have several hours of driving, so I will see if it drops like Prinzll's is doing. Edited April 8, 2014 by ls973800
FordIVTteam
Rebecca: I did the delete/add three times already. I also deleted and re-downloaded my phonebook twice. Are there other options I can do? For your phone disconnecting, the only other suggestion I have is a master reset to SYNC, reboot of your S4, and re-pair them. Here are the instructions for the reset: http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/perform-master-reset-sync-myford-touch Back to your phonebook, do you have any Groups or Favorites saved in your phone? PrinzII
Rebecca: I even did the Master Reset and re-paired the phone. For the record, I am on the most current version of Sync (3.6).
ls973800
Wednesday I had a round trip, driving about 2 hours each way. There were also several stops on the way back. I never lost connection with the SYNC or BT while I had the S4 connected. I had Slacker radio streaming music most of that time, and the artist and song name was always displayed on the screen. I was able to "skip" a song by using the SCAN button on the right hand side of the steering wheel. I had updated my S4 just a few days before this trip, and had no negative impact what so ever. I even gained the new addition of having artist and song title being shown on the screen using Slacker or Pandora radio apps.
PrinzII
What's even more peculiar is that my wife's S3 updated as well and hers doesn't drop at all. At the rate this is going, everything is starting to point toward the phone and me upgrading to an S5. PrinzII
Got the S5 but the bluetooth connection dropped on it once today.
FordIVTteam
Unfortunately, since we haven't tested the S5 yet, I cannot confirm if it is fully compatible with SYNC or MFT. I was reading up on this last night, and someone else had a similar connection issue; he had to "disconnect" from his Google account and log out of Gmail. I'm assuming that "disconnecting his Google account" means he removed it from the ACCOUNT portion of his phone. If you have free time this weekend, give it a try.Rebecca
PrinzII
However, the commonality is that both phones are on Kit Kat (Android 4.4.2) and before the phone firmware update, it worked fine. The S5 has only had one drop....period. Been consistently good otherwise.
blitz118
I do not have an S4/S5, but I have the Samsung Note 3 with Kit Kat 4.4.2 and I have not noticed any connectivity issues. Edited April 22, 2014 by blitz118
PrinzII
My S5 has been acting pretty decently lately. Blitz: Your Note3 and my S5 share the same processor
jonnyweb75
Just got a new S4 this weekend but didn't have much time to do much with it. I did get it synced up with the Edge with no problem. I also made sure the messaging is turned on. Now whenever I start the car, the S4 gives a notification that Sync wants to access my contact list to allow messages. I always say yes. Is there anyway to keep it as allowing access without having to say yes every time I start the car? I also am using BT on the radio to access Pandora through my phone. The sound is very good, but the screen on the car only shows unknown artist and unknown title. The phone has the full information. Any way to get at least the artist and title to show on the car screen? Thanks I am also having the Unknown Artist and Unknown Title with my Edge using my S5. What did you end up doing on the S4 in order for the information to show properly on the screen? Thanks Edited July 11, 2014 by jonnyweb75
jonnyweb75
Update: it is working with Slacker Radio, but not with Milk Radio. maybe it's because Milk is too new? Has anyone else tried using Milk on their Samsung?
PrinzII
The way things are set up, it is not recognizing streaming media but does recognize any MP3s you may have stored. However, the artist information doesn't always show on BT but does show on my iPod.
