jponce
2011 Edge Electrical Problems (So I assume) I have a 2011 Ford Edge Limited that is giving me some electrical problems. 1. Instrument screen always shows that the driver side door is always open. This causes the warning screen to come on and interior lights to stay on when running and parked. It also dings every couple of minutes when driving to remind you to shut your door. Sometimes you are able to open and shut the door while driving to finally make it go off. Yes I have checked that the door is clear of all objects and is completely closed. 2. Head lights: High beams do not engage when I pull back for high beams. Yes the regular head lights do come on but cannot use the high beams. Any help or suggestions to try to fix this before I give up and take into the Ford shop would help greatly. Thank you, Edge Owner
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
A: probably a faulty door latch/switch (common issue on the Edge) - some have squirted WD40 on the mechanism & relieved for a little while; ultimate fix is replacement B: likely a faulty headlamp switch. Haven't heard of wiring issues being common (other than an instance of a bad connector on the bulb, for instance), so I would remove & examine the switch. Possibly melted/fused. HTH. ls973800
The door switch problem has been mentioned on several posts, and many are the 2011 models. It is covered under bumper to bumper warranty if you have any remaining.

PrinzII
The high beams on these vehicles are activated by a shutter that you can sometimes hear. Did you hear the shutter move?
