KingMike
So... I made an accidental "modification" to my Sport So... Anyone who has been to Queens New York (Middle Village), you know the driveways are barely even armspan length.... And well... After driving 3 and a half hours from PA back to NY, I picked my car up from my buddy's house where it was parked all weekend.... Well, this is what happened.... Insurance called me and told me the total came up to almost $5,800 in damages, mostly because of the candy paint.... Insurance was told I was sideswiped while parked.... There is a few pics I didn't get... 2 dents and the side mirror got banged up a bit... This was a little over a week ago... She is in the shop and I just called and said she may be ready tomorrow. I'll post pics of the after.... My poor baby!
wannabang
Way to go? LOL I did something similar out of my mechanic's shop with my old car. There's a little guardrail that overhangs the parking lot and I wasn't paying attention... Least she's gettin' her shine back!
Dingo
Y'all need a Mobileye.
KingMike
Dingo you haven't seen a Queens driveway... They are small as hell and 2 buildings share them. The people who live next to my buddy has a Prius and I see a few of the same scratches on there. It is just tough. Any how, I got a call from the body shop today... They said it took them 4 hours to match the paint but it's being washed now and I'm going to be picking it up in about 45 minutes. Pictures will be posted soon! Rockballer
Not trying to be a douche but if someone did a re-paint that looked like that I would be pissed. Take it back and get them to wet-sand and polish all the orange peel on the back door. I'm sure you already signed the paperwork so it might be a little hard to get them to re-repaint it now. KingMike
There is no orange on it at all... I don't know if you're confused by the reflection of the sun in the picture or whatever, but there is no orange what so ever on there, bud. Dingo
It really looks like heavy orange peel. KingMike, I assume you know he didn't mean the color orange, right?
KingMike
It really looks like heavy orange peel. KingMike, I assume you know he didn't mean the color orange, right? Yes I am fully aware. Like I said, maybe the glare is throwing you guys off. My buddy runs a body shop n I went by his place with it yesterday and he even said it came out perfect

Rockballer
Just ask him to do a quick wet sand and the internet gods will be satisfied. Should be a fairly quick and easy fix http://s296.photobucket.com/user/1989MUSTANG_photo/media/OrangePeel_zps11a1b6b6.jpg.html#/user/1989MUSTANG_photo/media/OrangePeel_zps11a1b6b6.jpg.html?&_suid=1365601073090018056961027984303
KingMike
That's the thing though, that view isn't there in person or in any other pic I've taken of it. I don't know if I might have moved the phone when I took the pic or whatever might have happened. This is a picture of the reflection of my watch in that spot and it came out perfect.-
Dingo
Is that a diamond crusted sundial?

Rockballer
It looks good Mike don't mind us. I'm usually a complete ass when it comes to stuff like this. I sent my edge back a few weeks ago to the body shop and made them repaint the rear tailgate. Minor sand marks in the paint from a rear ender repair they had made. 99% of the people never see the any of the flaws I seem to find in all work. I'm just way to picky when it comes to stuff like this and usually cause a scene anywhere I go unless it's perfect..... LOL
KingMike
I am too, my buddy is worse than me though. He owns a very good body shop in Queens and I always take stuff to him so he can look it over for me. He catches everything.
PrinzII
I will admit I am as bad, if not worse than Rockballer. When an unlicensed driver hit my 2008 Edge, let's just say that the shop personnel and I became very fast friends.
KingMike
That's the way to do it, my man.
PrinzII
Heck, I know a shop in Chicago I'd use in a heartbeat for body work. They repaired my 2002 Maxima after a hit and run driver nearly ripped the rear quarter panel off. After repairs, people were hard pressed to tell the difference.
