Joey183
So I have an 07 ford edge with 84000 km on it, before I left for school today I noticed there were a few drops of this very black oil. I've noticed before oil to the left of the oil drain plug (on the PTU is what I understand. I just never thought anything of the oil until I saw it on the ground this morning. It's not leaking very much, a few drops if anything. It's just annoying, I want to stop it from leaking. Is it bad for me to continue to drive with this leak? I don't have time to fix it yet. I've read that the PTU seal is a frequent problem, how much does it cost to fix this also? Thanks in advance.
UnfocusedEdge
Had the same thing happen to my edge. I took it to ford and it was right around $385. I drove on mine for a month or so. I wouldn't recommend any road trips till you get it fixed.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Mine was about $485 at the dealer, had taken it in for a diagnostic (no oil leak, but oil smell when starting engine). So about 4.5 hrs labor total, at about $110/hr, + about $10 for parts. The related "service tip" is here: http://way2evil.com/tsb/tsb09-25-07.pdf
