WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Has anyone had this problem? There is now a class action lawsuit: http://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2013/ford-lawsuit-sudden-acceleration.shtml Moderators, please feel free to move thread if this is not the appropriate section. Thank you!
fishx65
I've never really been convinced that any of these sudden acceleration stories are true. It does seem possible with electronics controlling the throttle but I would guess that most cases are driver error and floor mats. I had the floor mat thing happen to me many moons ago in an old 77 T-bird with the throttle wide open. I just cut the engine with the key and coasted to a stop. WWWPerfA_ZN0W
X2 on the floor mats, and/or improperly installed carpeting. Very annoying. But would still keep an eye out JIC.
akirby
Here is a good thread on this over at BOF. Basically they're just ambulance chasers. Nothing to see here. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/53232-sudden-unintended-accelleration-now-offered-on-some-fords/

I'm quite a firm believer in the fact that people are just plain f'ing stupid and always looking for a way to get something for nothing and/or avoid having to take responsibility for their lack of common sense. Funny how you never hear of this stuff, then one person starts something and then all of a sudden... "Ohhhh yea...uhhh... mine did that too.... yea!". And that's when I have to spend MY time (as in not getting paid) to try and find a "problem" that doesn't exist.... quite frustrating
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Good to know this is a Chicken Little situation. Having knowledgeable members chime in helps separate the good from the rotten
Waldo
That lawsuit basically lists every Ford product that ever came with an electronic throttle. It seems to be going after the concept of an electronic throttle, rather than any actual proven defects,

carbonedge+
I have narrowed down all of my sudden acceleration issues to my right foot!
