Claimed defect causing sudden acceleration, similar to Toyota

Recommended Posts

I've never really been convinced that any of these sudden acceleration stories are true. It does seem possible with electronics controlling the throttle but I would guess that most cases are driver error and floor mats. I had the floor mat thing happen to me many moons ago in an old 77 T-bird with the throttle wide open. I just cut the engine with the key and coasted to a stop.

Here is a good thread on this over at BOF. Basically they're just ambulance chasers. Nothing to see here.

About what I was just gonna say too..... I'm quite a firm believer in the fact that people are just plain f'ing stupid and always looking for a way to get something for nothing and/or avoid having to take responsibility for their lack of common sense. Funny how you never hear of this stuff, then one person starts something and then all of a sudden... "Ohhhh yea...uhhh... mine did that too.... yea!". And that's when I have to spend MY time (as in not getting paid) to try and find a "problem" that doesn't exist.... quite frustrating
