Thanks! The front and rear doors both take 6X8" speakers. The depth is different between the front and rear, the rear openings accept a shallower depth. Good_Hands
the Edge doesn't come with that. I was never too impressed with it either. You can always do better with aftermarket.
akirby
I was never too impressed with it either. You can always do better with aftermarket. That depends on whether you're looking for good sound quality or just loudness/thumping bass. It's hard to beat for sound quality.

It's hard to beat for sound quality. I love it in the theaters. But I also heard it a few years ago in my friend's dads Lincoln and it was very nice. But I was a little let down as I had heard better in some of the custom audio set-ups I heard. Maybe the newer ones are better?
Ksaness07Edge
the Edge doesn't come with that. I think he was just saying Thanks not THX as in the sound system?
akirby
I think he was just saying Thanks not THX as in the sound system? Of course he was. It was a joke, son, a joke I say (apologies to Foghorn Leghorn). The new version is THX II - I think it is improved but don't forget it also depends on the vehicle. The THX systems are tuned specifically to each vehicle. Stereo sound quality is surprisingly subjective so it's hard to get a consensus on what sounds the best. Ksaness07Edge
Yeah I figured you were but sometimes sarcasm is hard to see on the forums we've had a few people get all heated about it before. And I would have to say that any aftermarket system when put together with the right components will blow away a factory THX system no mater what car is in. Just my opinion thats why I have never really found the value in spending the money for the factory units when I can get aftermarket units that look better cost less and sound better. Like I said, sound quality and which sounds "better" is really subjective. The THX guys take a lot of time and effort to tune each and every speaker to the vehicle which you don't really get with an aftermarket system. It's probably correct to say the THX II system is more accurate as far as sound reproduction but whether you like it or not is a personal thing. Good_Hands
I thought the "joke" was obvious. But you are right ksaness....some people don't see things as obviously as others.
07 MKX
Actually it really was sarcasm, because when he first came on here, he tried the high-school idiot type of post where he thought his texting was so cool, it hurt your eyes trying to understand what he said. Well a few people kind wrote about that, and what do you know. All of a sudden his spelling seemed to improve for just a short while. Up until the time came when he wanted someone to buy some products for him and he would pay them with paypal. no takers, so he slipped back into his, slackness? Funny thing is, he couldn't get it thru his head why he was having trouble with his lights, and now for weeks, he never cared to post a final report as to what was wrong. Hard to admit you make a mistake, so now it's onto another topic, and same crap.
