WhiteMKX2008
I'm getting some intermittent function out of the lowbeam. After I get home from work it's off, but if I pop the hood and fiddle with it a bit it will come back on. I'm noticing the wire connector attached to the bulb has about 1 cm of bare wire. I wrapped it in electrical tape and I'll check again tonight. Could it be melting insultation? If so, can that wire connector be replaced by itself? It seems to connect somewhere in the bowels of the headlight assembly. Thanks.
WhiteMKX2008
Hmm no dice. When I got home both lights were on. Checked 10 minutes later and the same light was off again.
WhiteMKX2008
Bulb is good. Saw some melted plastic on the H11 connector. One of the prongs inside the connector is longer and seems to contribute to a bad connection. Bought a new connector locally for $6. Going to splice it in tomorrow. WhiteMKX2008
For future generations and posterity: spliced in new connector. Light works. All is well.

WhiteMKX2008
Thanks . Now come post-install checks where I make sure things aren't heating up/melting.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Yeah, electrical issues can be b***b*****s. With the Edge it's usually the battery or the door latch in some shape or form.
WhiteMKX2008
I've only had this car from 91k to 105k so so far that's the only thing. My last car was a Taurus and it was decent. I'm hoping this car is even better
