richy
I hate this feature and had it turned off via the left side control screen. It seems after the update that it turns itself back on every new ignition cycle. How do I KEEP it disabled?
Edgieguy
Hey Richy, We've been driving a 2012 Lincoln MKT for 3 months while the Wife's Explorer has been in back and forth for a stubborn roof leak. She complained about the collision warning and the dealer told her it cannot be turned off. Im sure he doesn't know (very probable he's only the service guy). I've only driven it once and I can imagine what a pain in the ass it would be to have on a daily basis. I guess this is stating what you already know: Activating/deactivating collision warning system To turn the warning system and/or chime on or off and set the warning sensitivity <– –>, refer to Message center in the Instrument Cluster chapter. Note: If the system cannot be turned off in a MyKey equipped vehicle, refer to MyKey in the Locks and Security chapter for more information. Note: If collision warnings are perceived as being too frequent or disturbing then the warning sensitivity can be reduced, though the manufacturer recommends using the highest sensitivity setting where possible. Setting lower sensitivity would lead to fewer and later system warnings. Refer to the Message center in the Instrument Cluster chapter for instructions on reducing the sensitivity. richy
Before the latest update I could shut it off and it would stay off all the time.
Limited59
Wow it's that bad is it? I presume you're finding it overly sensitive in city traffic?
akirby
Mine only goes off when it needs to go off. I only get a false alarm when there is a line of cars waiting to turn left at an intersection and the road turns back to the right sharply. If yours is going off a lot you're either following too closely or the sensor is malfunctioning.
richy
Akirby, I don't care what the circumstances are that set it off, I don't like it. I choose to have it turned off. Prior to this last update, I could shut it off and it would stay off. Not now. I was hoping to find some other way to do it to disable it until I want it back on. akirby
I agree if you turn it off it should stay off. I just tested my Fusion and it stays off. Have you tried disconnecting the battery to reset everything?

I called the Ford Sync 800# on Thursday and she said it's not functioning properly and to take it in. I'll try the battery first.
Caroll
My abs light, traction control and collision warning malfunction lights were on. I replaced the speed sensor, right rear, the abs light and traction control lights went off but collision warning malfunction is still on. Any suggestions?
