2013 Explorer owners

Any Edge and 2013 Explorer owners out here? We're about to do our part to help stimulate the economy and trade the wife's '04 Sienna in on one. XLT FWD 3.5, Equip Grp 202A, with BAMR, tow package, VA Nav, and power lift gate. Sterling Gray with light stone leather.

We test drove one and really like it. Hoping to take delivery next week; it's currently on the carrier and scheduled for delivery on Monday!

I'm interested in hearing any owner impressions. This will also throw us in the world of SYNC...(My Edge is pre-SYNC so I never had to deal with that).

Unknown right now. They did replace the sunroof assembly twice so it's not that. It's been back 9 times, nearly 120 days in service, each time they take the headliner out they say "We found the leak and sealed it!" Then they button up the car again return it to us and it leaks again. It's at a point where we got in touch with a lawyer and were pursuing a lemon settlement on it. We love the Ex and more than likely we'll take the check and buy a new Ex. Today we went to the car show and we only thought the GMC Acadia was close to what we'd want, but at a lot more money. So I think we're going to have a 2014 Explorer by fall.

Hi, Only had our 2013 edge SEL since Feb.8, 2013. Car was built Jan. 2013. Have 1200 miles on it. I think it will be a all around good vehicle. It does have a couple SMALL issues I don't care for. One the wipers are a engineering screw up. Whan in a light mist/rain with wipers on low intermitant the left wiper throws water all over the right side on the down stroke. Doesn't hurt anything but could have been engineered better. Does have very firm ride, OK on highway. Wheels could have been set in about an inch inside the fender wells. Tires throw dirt-slush etc. on the sides of the car. ( I figure the wheel stance is for safety ) and the rear of the car gets dirty tooooo darn fast. Don't know if it comes from under or because of the air foil on the back. I had a Freestar van before buying the edge, lift gate didn't seem to get as much dirt on it.. I bought this car under the D plan. My Son works at a Ford dealership. I was told that the selling dealer couldn't haggle if if using one of the ford plans. The dealer we purchased from couldn't take anymore of the price. What they did was write me a check to come up with our final out the door price. I was told buy several people that I did OK. $27,500.00 out the door. Window sticker was $32,390.00 - D plan = $29,449.00 + 7% tax= $31,509.00 + $115.00 dealer charges = $31,624.00 after a couple days of haggling out the door final cost $27,500.00 post-26092-0-94006100-1364818168_thumb.jpg

That doesn't sound very fun; hope in the end you get everything worked out...and thanks for the info; hopefully it's not a 2013 model issue.

Thats my hang up. Im a member on the Explorerforums.com and people with 2013's are having the same leak. What I dint understand is how no one has made that call to the plant manager and said "Hey I think someone should check the butyl rubber body caulk sealer, something is wrong, we've got a ton of complaints"??? Seems simple to me. I hope by 2014 they have it figured out.
