jonesychris
Hey Guys, just bought a used edge and I cannot get the seat memory to change. Setting 1 is all the way back, and setting 2 is all the way forward. Both settings have mirrors pointing at ground basically. I've tried hitting set and 1 or set and 2, but all that does is moves it to the corresponding locations. I've tried all of these things with car on, with car off, and with car accessory turned on. I've also tried disassociating the seat remote with it by pressing set, then unlock/lock on remote and corresponding 1/2 depending on remote. The seat doesn't actually move, but if i hit unlock 2 times it will still move the seat to the corresponding location. I've tried pulling the power seat fuse, and disconnecting battery for over an hour. Neither reset it. Totally annoying having to reset this EVERY time you get in the car, especially with mirrors pointed at ground so you can't see anything.Hoping I dont have to pay dealer to tell me i'm stupid and not following directions right. JOEHIO
When setting the memory, holding in driver 1 or 2 button, are you holding it in until you hear 2 beeps? That's how it's set on my MKX, give it a try. Edited February 13, 2013 by JOEHIO
jonesychris
My 2008 has the set button, which looks like it has a light on the button, but even when pressed doesn't light up. I've tried holding and never hear a beep whether its the set button or the 1/2 buttons.
autom8r
Do you have the Easy Entry/Exit feature enabled? You'll find the settings for it using the little display in your instrument cluster. Scroll through through the settings until you find "Easy Entry/Exit" <ON> OFF and make sure it is set to ON. Good luck.

jonesychris
The SET control light will briefly illuminate. That does not happen to me. I have tried with easy access on and off. I just dropped the edge off at the local ford dealership. $120 just to diagnose. Said it should be done tomorrow. Man I would have been better off wrapping the edge around a pole and using insurance to get another one!
jonesychris
The power seat module is being replaced. Also previous owner had a 75k mile warranty good until 2015 that is transferable. So all I have to pay is $100 deductible.
