Edgieguy
On Ford's main webpage for the 2013 Sport I keep seeing their Mileage estimates of 19/26 (footnote 2) Ive searched for any information on what that might be and cant find any explanation. When I was at the dealer the other day I looked at a Sport window sticker and it listed the same 16/23 I have listed on my window sticker (I couldn't find a Front Wheel Drive) but I believe that those were 16/24mpg. Is there something new on the 2013's? Direct injection?
Mark94
Ford website, when choosing what model to build shows 18/26 for the Sport model and they normally display the FWD versions as they get better gas mileage. What they normally disclose is "up to 18/26" which are the FWD versions. Most Sports are AWD and I believe you have an AWD version which may be the reason for the decreased mileage on your window sticker. The disclosures on the Ford site state the following: For Manufacturer Specific Disclosures See Below1 Starting MSRP, A, Z and X Plan price is for qualified, eligible A, Z, or X Plan customers and excludes document fee, destination/delivery charge, taxes, title and registration. Optional equipment not included. Not all vehicles qualify for A, Z or X Plan.2 MPG - EPA estimated base engine/transmission. Hope that helps! omar302
As per the 2013 Edge Source book, the sport is rated as 19/26 for FWD and 17/23 for AWD.

Edgieguy
Ok. I read the base engine/transmission footnote but was looking for something that said 3.7L or Sport.

X2E
If you're interested in some actual/factual results, I own a 2013 sport and I'm getting around 22-23 on the highway, and around 15 in city traffic.

Msl558
Hey guys... Just an FYI, the MPG that Ford provides is base on their own test facilities. 60 deg weather, even pavements, and at 55mph. they also comebine the mpg of the 3.5 and 3.7 and do their math and come out that number. now, normal driveing for us is different than how they test it. just like lowery said, his at 70/77 mph at cruise.. thats one of my questions too to our trainer here at dealership everytime there are new vehicle that ford comes with he comes in and show us around. just like when they introduce the new edge on 2011. whent to raleigh NC this.morning and driving a 13 sports and im doing about 65mph its about a 2 hrs drive one way and i average about 27mpg highway. Edgieguy
Not complaining then, I just drove a 2013 Limited AWD and got no better gas mileage during my normal routes than I get in my Sport AWD. Ive switched to full synthetic motor oil and plan on using other synthetics when I have to change the trans fluid as well.
SIRROMMOTORSPORTS
Each time I drive the wife's car I check her computer and it usually is in the 18-19 mph range town driving running up and down the hill, etc... We're at the 1500 miles mark so its a really new car, also the AWD model. Last longer road trip we took to the city I got the average up to 22.8 though yeehaa lol
arabski
I am probably going to be the only one making fuel consumption stats in a country, where 1 liter costs $ 0.16, but I do it anyways 3.7 AWD: 12/16/2013 4 169 12.72 -> 22 MPG 12/15/2013 3 687 15.61 -> 18 MPG 12/12/2013 3 324 12.56 -> 22 MPG 12/11/2013 2 841 11.9 -> 24 MPG 12/9/2013 2 337 12.5 -> 23 MPG 12/8/2013 1 873 13.12 -> 22 MPG 12/7/2013 1 530 15.99 -> 18 MPG 11/26/2013 1 161 13.27 -> 21 MPG 11/23/2013 709 13.7 -> 21 MPG values provided in km and l/100km -> translated into MPG. I usually cruise at 75 mph, but for every tank I spend at least 1 hour idling at the border crossing, so I believe those numbers could be even better. Now the funny part - my stat app is saying that I have made so far 4168 km (2589 miles) and burned 115 USD worth of fuel (634 liters = 167 gallons). Welcome to Saudi Arabia... I think you are mixing up between us & imperial gollons in your calculation. Your mileage is actually less in mpg:For example, 12.72 l/100 km is equal to 18.49 mpg. acisne
My 2013 SE 3.5 is only getting 21.7 mpg at best on all highway flat land Texas driving after 2000 miles. Should I expect to get better?
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
Still breaking in. Are you featherfooting or stepping into the gas quite a bit? It does make a difference (quite a bit), well after being broken in.
